Amitabh to play a patriarch in ‘Sairat’ director Nagraj Manjule’s Bollywood debut

Nagraj Manjule is all set to debut into Bollywood now. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the director is working on a script to make his Bollywood debut and has approached Amitabh Bachchan for a role. Nagraj is debuting in Bollywood with a social drama that will feature Amitabh Bachchan as a patriarch with shades of grey. Reportedly, Nagraj had the concept ready for a while and had planned it as a Marathi film, but after ‘Sairat’, he wanted to revisit the story in Hindi. “Nagraj worked on it for a year-and-a-half before taking the script to Bachchan in January. The project was locked soon after,” reveals a source in the report, adding that the film is expected to roll later this year.
