Drizzles disrupt normal life across country

Flood Star Mail District (1) (606 x 430)DHAKA : The entire country, including capital Dhaka, experienced drizzles throughout the day on Monday due to active monsoon, reports UNB.
Light rain started coming down in many parts of the capital from Sunday and it continued till the evening.
The Met office recorded 32 mm of rainfall in Dhaka in the last 28 hours commencing from 6 am on Sunday.
Besides, the highest 188 mm of rainfall was recorded in Kutubdia of Cox’s Bazar during the period.
The Met office said a low has formed over West Bengal and adjoining area. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, the centre of the low and thence northeastwards to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
Due to the active monsoon, heavy (44-88 mm) to very heavy (89 mm or more) rainfall is likely to occur at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal Chittagong and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours commencing from 10 am today.
Due to heavy to very heavy rainfall, landslide may occur at places over the hilly regions of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.
