Maqsood O’Dhaka and Salma Enthrall Audience at BRAC CDM Rajendrapur

Close-up star Salma & her band Nongor (646 x 430)At BRAC CDM Rajendrapur in Gazipur, a little far from the madding city crowd, good number of people in their high zeal came together on Friday to celebrate the Pohela Boishakh in a bit different manner, featuring among other events, panta-ilish, sports, entertainment and boat cruise on the lake surrounded by clean and green pure nature. A Grand Boshekhi Concert was also held in this regard with Maqsood O’ dHAKA, close-up star Salma & her band Nongor and Baul Shahjahan Munsi & his troupe gripped the audience playing with some really good pieces of Bangla folk and fusion music.
The happy celebration of the Bangla New Year began with Mongol-Shobhajatra, a traditional colorful procession of collective merriment, singing and dancing away the old and welcoming the new, at 11-30 AM in the morning. Noted celebrities attending the festive march among others were actor Abul Hayat and cricketer Habibul Bashar Sumon. Besides, DC and SP of Gazipur including high-officials in the government and non-government sectors also attended the occasion.
As goes the tradition, a mini-village fair was also arranged on the beautifully decorated BRAC CDM premises featuring indigenous handicraft, pottery, puppet show along with street-bioscope. In the afternoon, participants really had a good time as they were offered boat cruise in the peacefully lying lake of the resort.
BRAC Services Limited (BSL) initiated the daylong event. The grand Boshekhi Concert was planned, managed, and coordinated by Cool Exposure.
Novo-Air organized a raffle draw for the participants and the lucky winners are now going to enjoy two Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka air-ticket besides one-night-stay for a couple at BRAC CDM Savar including free-lunch for two at Shororitu restaurant of Hotel Artisan at Uttara and another free-lunch for two at BRAC INN Center, Mohakhali.
