China to take Bangladeshi students for higher studies

DHAKA, – A three-member Chinese delegation today expressed its keenness to take Bangladeshi graduates for higher studies in China, reports BSS.

The delegation, led by CEO of Ningbo OSDA Solar Co. Ltd in China Shirley Zhang, expressed the willingness during a courtesy call on University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan at his office here, said an UGC press release here.

Professor and Academic Adviser of Stamford University Bangladesh Dr. AKM Waliul Islam and Chairman of Global Resource Augmentation and Management Ltd ASM Abdul Motin accompanied Shirley during the meeting.

The UGC Chairman briefed the delegation about UGC’s mandate in promoting higher education in Bangladesh, the release added.

Appreciating Shirley’s proposal, Professor Mannan urged the delegation to submit a written proposal to UGC in this regard and also showed eagerness to work with China.

UGC members Professors Dr Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Dr. Dil Afroza Begum and Dr. M. Shah Nowaz Ali were present on the occasion, among others.
