Mijarul Quayes’s body to arrive early Monday

DHAKA : Body of former Foreign Secretary and Bangladesh Ambassador to Brazil and Mohamed Mijarul Quayes arrives here early Monday, reports UNB.
Deputy Chief of Mission at the Bangladesh Embassy in Brasilia Shumona Iqbal and family members of Quayes are accompanying the body which is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1am on Monday, said a diplomatic source. The body has already arrived in Doha from Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport from where it will be brought to Dhaka. Namaz-e-Janaza of the late Ambassador will take place at 8:30am on Monday on the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the city. His second Namaz-e-Janaza has been scheduled at Gulshan Azad Mosque (Gulshan-2) after Asr prayers, said his colleagues. He will be buried at Banani graveyard on Tuesday. His body is likely to be taken to the central Shaheed Minar at 10 am so that his well-wishers, relatives and colleagues can pay last respects to him. Quayes breathed his last at a hospital in Brasilia, Brazil at 6 am (BST) on March 11 at the age of 57. Quayes served as a Foreign Secretary in the ministry during 2009-12. He is survived by wife, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his premature death.
