BAF deploys UN contingents in Haiti

DHAKA : Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) contingent yesterday flew to Haiti to replace an existing detachment there as part of UN peacekeeping mission in the country, reports BSS.
A total 110 member contingents was led by Group Captain M Khair-ul-Afsar, PSC, an ISPR statement said here today.
The statement said a special monajat was offered at BAF Base Bashar at Dhaka Cantonment seeking excellence of the contingents in the missions in future.
An UN-chartered aircraft carried them to Haiti, where they would join the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), added the press release.
It said senior BAF officials saw the contingent off at the Hazrat Shahjahal International Airport (HSIA).
