95 years of glory

The whole campus of Dhaka University has been decorated with various colors as it is going to celebrate its 95 founding anniversary today. With the color of street light, the environment of campus night becomes fascinating.
Anyone, if stranger, might get surprised and would glimpse into the beauty of surroundings.
The whole campus decorated a week before the EID, the biggest Muslim festival and one could feel the festive environment at the campus at night before the founding anniversary of DU.
Expressing feelings, Abu Shahin, a 3rd year student of Geography, said that he feels awesome seeing this beautiful campus.
‘I am proud of being a student of this glorious institution, he said’.
Dhaka University, renowned as Oxford of the east, is going to celebrate its 95 establishing years today. Dhaka University is such an institution which played most important role in the country’s Language Movement, Liberation War, in making the country dictators free etc. An institution played vital role in changing political consequence, social value and everything concerned to a sovereign country.
DU has drawn a touch into the every development of the country. So, Dhaka University is not just an institution, it’s a vital part to the nation people.
Dhaka University started its journey on 1st July of 1921 within a small range of the campus. The institution becomes the ‘Light of the nation’ with the small footsteps from the earlier.
‘Never look back’ DU represents the dialogue. It goes to the high every time beating every disastrous situation. Achieved a lot, struggled many times, stumbled many times but never looked back.   Thus 95 years of glory and progress comes at the door.
Background of DU: Dhaka University founded on 1st July of 1921 with 600 acres land at the heart of the Dhaka by the decision of Nathan committee formed in 1912. The university now contains 262 acres only though having Bangladesh University  of Engineering and Technology and Dhaka Medical College in its lap. Started with 12 departments, it contains almost 81 departments and 13 institutions, 44 research bureau and centre now. The varsity has now 20 residential halls while it was 3 in amount during the established and has over 800 teachers that were 60 in the founding years. The glorious institute starts its journey with 877 which is now over 48 thousand.   Programs to celebrate DU day: Dhaka University authorities take some program to celebrate this glorious day. The whole day program will be inaugurated at 10am at the Mall Chattar. DU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique will inaugurate the program schedules formally at that time. A rally will be formed and go for Teachers-Students Centre (TSC) at 11am after the inauguration. There would be held a discussion meeting where Cultural Personality Ramendu Majumder would present an article over “Higher education to prevent terrorism and militancy and to develop human cognition’. Current Vice Chancellor, former Vice Chancellors, Pro VC, former Pro VC will deliver welcoming speech at that time.
