Maintenance works of two roads launched in Rangpur

RANGPUR: Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) and valiant freedom fighter Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu launched maintenance works of two roads in different areas of the city on Thursday, reports BSS.
Jhantu inaugurated maintenance works of the roads from Sarder Bazar to Chandkuthi Eidgah under Ward No-8 and from Babu Khan to RK Road under Ward No-22 by unveiling plaques at separate ceremonies as the chief guest.
The road maintenance works are being implemented under construction and maintenance packages of roads and drainage systems in five groups at Taka 4.32 crore with financial assistance of the Municipal Governance Services Project (MGSP).
City Councilors Abul Manjur Kuthial and Shahjalal Karim Bakul, Executive Engineer of RpCC Azam Ali, its Sub-assistant Engineer Shihab-Ul-Hassan, businessman Moazzem Hossain Mithu and contractor Shafikul Islam Jadu were present.
While addressing the occasions, the City Mayor directed the concerned authorities, engineers, officials and contractors for ensuring the best quality of all infrastructural construction works with transparency and accountability.
The City Mayor also sought cooperation of the citizens in smooth implementation of the massive ongoing infrastructural development works for turning Rangpur into a traffic-jam free modern city with excellent road communication networks.
