Dance speaks of human feelings, cultural identity: Speakers

dance (651 x 430)RANGPUR : Leading cultural personalities have said dance always speaks of human feelings as well as life and living with love,affection, arts, devotion, emotion and cultural identity of any nation on the earth, reports BSS.
They said this while taking part in a discussion organised in celebration of the International Dance Day- 2016, by Rangpur divisional unit of Bangladesh Nrittya Shilpi Sangstha (BNSS) on the Swasswato Bangla Mukta Munch here on Friday evening.
The BNSS with assistance of Rangpur Sound Touch, Rangpur Nrittya Sangstha,Rangpur Nrittya Academy, Rangpur Nattya Kendra, Rinijhini Nrittya Academy and other dance organisations chalked out elaborate programmes in observance of the day.
The programmes included colourful rallies, receptions to the dance artists,presentation of different dances, cultural functions, distribution of prizes among the dance artists and other activities befitting to the occasion.
Chaired by President of Rangpur divisional unit of BNSS Nasima Zaman,
Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Md Rahat Anwar addressed the discussion as the chief guest.
Noted educationist Professor Rakibul Hasan Bulbul, businessman Zakir Sadek Saodagar, dance artist China Neogi as special guests addressed the occasion moderated by General Secretary of Rangpur divisional unit of BNSS Prof Azizul Islam.
After the discussion, popular dance artists from all over Rangpur division rendered dances charming a huge audience of all ages, including dancers of different ages, socio-cultural personalities, civil society members,professionals and local elite.
The chief guest along with other invited guests handed over ‘Kunjolal
Medal’ to dance artists Rawnak Ara Nipa and Khiljee Ashikul Huda Polash for their extraordinary performances.
Besides, medal were distributed among best mothers Advocate Fauzia Naznin of Rangpur and Falguni Tarafder of Kurigram for providing adequate facilities in learning dance to the daughter Oishee and son Durjoy respectively.
The chief guest also handed over “Begum Rokeya Medal” to member of BNSS Shamima Zaman at the divisional level best performer in dance.
