BTRC launches complaints service short code

DHAKA : Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has launched a four-digit short code for receiving complaints from mobile phone and internet telecommunications users, reports UNB.
The BTRC has launched the four-digit short code–2872 under second level complaint management process through its call centre, said BTRC Chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmud at a press briefing at the BTRC office on Wednesday.
The customers can now complain and take advice by using the short code from any mobile phone number and the users have to pay 25 paisa per minute as call charge.
A team of ‘Complaint Management Taskforce’ will monitor the overall process.
The authorities concerned of the call center will solve the problems in three stages-receiving the unsettled complaints of telecommunications operators, sending complaints to the authorities concerned after investigation by the Complaint Management Taskforce, and informing the message to the customers.
The process of re-registering SIMs/RIUMs under the biometric system began on December 16 last and the deadline was April 30. Later, the government extended the deadline for SIM re-registration under the biometric method till May 31.
The registration of 9, 70, 85,741 customers of all the mobile operators has been completed so far.
