17 force commanders attend reception at permanent BD mission

DHAKA : Seventeen force commanders of all the ongoing UN Peacekeeping missions attended a reception on Tuesday at the permanent mission of Bangladesh, says a press release of Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations.
The commanders have been attending a 4-day long heads of Military Component Conference that started Monday at the UN headquarters. The theme of the annual conference is “Performance: A Command Responsibly” with a view to enhancing performance of the overall peacekeeping operations. It would also help sharing the experiences of the commanders on-the-ground with a target to achieve better performance in the operation fields.
At present, UN peacekeeping operations have been performing in 16 peace missions with an aim to establish peace and stability in the conflict-ridden countries across the world.
A total of 9,380 peacekeepers, including 216 females from Bangladesh, are now delivering their sacred duties in 10 different peace missions.
