Believe it or not! A student who did not appear at the Primary Terminal Examination at all has passed the exam with a good grade — GPA-5!
This unbelievable incident happened in Hatibandha upazila of the district.
Sazzad Hossain Sakib, a student of Sindurna Govt Primary School and son of Hasen Ali of Sindurna village, migrated to Dhaka along with his parents three months backs whereby he could not sit for the exam this year, said locals and his teachers.
However, when the results of the primary and ebtedayee examinations were published on Tuesday, it was seen that his name is in the list of GPA-5 achievers bearing roll number 2435.
The matter created a sensation across the district.
Asked how the incident happened, Hatibandha education officer Abbas Ali Bhuiyan said teachers of neighbouring Kaliganj upazila cut the exam papers of the students of Hatibandha.
He also said the mistake would be corrected after scrutiny.
Meanwhile, another student, Mim Mantasa, of the same school who took part in all the subjects of the exam, was showed absent in the Bangla exam.
For this reason, she failed to come out successful.
Headmaster of the school Nurunnabi confirmed the matter, saying he submitted a written application to the upazila education office to evaluate the results.
