NSTU Closed Sine Die over Ongoing Unrest

The administration of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) has suspended all classes and exams for indefinite period.
Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university Professor Dr. Abul Hossain on October 19, 2014 (Sunday) evening unveiled this decision at the end of the day-long meeting with teachers and officials.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university Professor Dr. Abul Hossain said, “It is very difficult for me to control the ongoing unstable situation of the university. So the decision was taken to keep the natural educational environment of the university.”
He also hoped that all problems will be solved when the new Vice-Chancellor will be in charge.
Students locked the academic buildings on October 19, 2014 on the account of distributing indecent leaflets against the teachers and form a human chain on the campus demanding punishment of leaflet distributors. At the end of the protest, students’ was submitted a memorandum of 4-point demand to the Acting Vice-Chancellor. Classes and exams have been suspended on the fear of any further large unstable environment in the future.
