44 burnt alive as bus catches fire in Andhra Pradesh

NEW DELHI: Forty four passengers were charred to death in bus blaze on the Bangalore-Hyderabad national highway in Mahbubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh in India early on Wednesday, reports BSS
The passengers were asleep when the bus hit the culvert and its diesel tank burst. People from nearby village said within few minutes the bus was reduced to ashes. .
“It seems the bus was travelling at a high speed when its fuel tank hit the roadside culvert and caught fire. The passengers in the bus were burnt beyond recognition. The entire bus has been gutted,” a senior police officer said, adding they were collecting the list of passengers who had boarded the bus last night.
Initial reports said that the central locking system of the luxury bus jammed preventing people from getting out of the door and windows.
