BAF chopper makes emergency landing in Narsingdi

DHAKA : A helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force made an emergency landing at Methikanda in Raipura upazila in Narsingdi on Thursday afternoon, reports UNB.
Sources at the Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR) said the helicopter BELL-212 took off from BAF base Bashar in Dhaka around 12:10pm for a training navigation mission.
When the helicopter reached the air of Methikanda at 1:23 pm, its pilot squadron leader Arafat and copilot flying officer Rakib landed it on a paddy field on an emergency basis to escape any unpleasant incident as they found its transmission oil-pressure at zero level, said ISPR assistant director Nur Islam.
Officer-in-charge of Raipura Police Station Mahmudul Islam said pilot Squadron leader Arafat and co-pilot flying officer Rakib escaped unhurt.
