Shab-e-Barat on June 24 night

DHAKA : Shab-e-Barat, the holy night of fortune and forgiveness, will be observed on the night of June 24 as the new moon for the month of Shaban was not sighted anywhere in the country on Sunday, reports UNB.
The decision came at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at the Islamic Foundation office in the evening. Secretary to the Religious Affairs Ministry and vice-chairman of the committee Kazi Habibul Awal presided over the meeting.
The meeting reviewed reports and messages received from across the country about non-appearance of the new moon in the skies of Bangladesh.
